The role of advertising has changed significantly with the development of society. In the industrial era, it was aimed at the mass consumer and performed mainly an informational function. In post-industrial society, advertising becomes more personalized, aimed at forming a unique lifestyle and value systems. The article presents an analysis of those transformations of advertising content in two types of society from the point of view of its value component, presented in relation to socio-political transformations.
