Exploration of inclusive design improves accessibility and social cohesion for children and youth in cities.
Urban planning and design that takes into account the needs of all citizens, including children and youth, is crucial for creating inclusive and accessible cities. Urban plans play an important role in ensuring a quality life for children and youth in the Republic of Srpska through several key aspects: planning of public spaces and infrastructure, ensuring quality housing, improving educational infrastructure, youth participation, providing safety and accessibility. This paper explores the principles and practices of inclusive urban design that promotes equality, accessibility, and social cohesion for children and youth. Inclusive urban planning and design is key to creating cities that provide equal opportunities for all citizens. By integrating the needs of children and youth into the planning process, cities can become more accessible, safer, and more vibrant for residents. This requires a holistic approach that combines physical design, social programs, and participatory planning processes.
