Observational study tracks trends in HRT prescriptions and public awareness of menopause and HRT implications.
(Abstracted from BJOG 2025, doi:10.1111/1471-0528.18220) Public awareness of menopause and hormone replacement therapy (HRT) in the United Kingdom has been increasing over the past decade through social media, documentaries, and public figures. This has resulted in an overall 35% increase in HRT prescriptions in England, which dropped precipitously in the early 2000s following publication of the Million Women Study (MWS) and the Women’s Health Initiative (WHI).
