This observational analysis shows a new method for assessing myocardial fibrosis in hypertensive heart disease, indicating high diagnostic efficacy.
Motivation: This study evaluates the feasibility of combining CMR T1 mapping and Second MoCo cDWI to assess myocardial fibrosis in hypertensive heart disease (HHD) patients. Goal(s): To provide a new non-invasive, quantitative, contrast-free method for the assessment of diffuse myocardial fibrosis. Approach: Compared to healthy controls, HHD patients showed significantly higher T1 values and lower ADC values. Results: The combined T1 and ADC values demonstrated high diagnostic efficacy for identifying myocardial fibrosis (AUC = 0.98), providing a new non-invasive and quantitative approach without using contrast agents. Impact: This study provides a quantitative assessment of myocardial fibrosis in HHD patients using T1 mapping combined with MoCo cDWI, supporting fibrosis diagnosis.
