Analysis reveals that project-based activities enhance creativity and interdisciplinary skills in primary school students, indicating a need for innovative approaches.
The article examines the issue of integrating mathematical and artistic educational fields in primary school through project-based activities. Emphasis is placed on the necessity of innovative approaches in education that contribute to the formation of a holistic worldview among students and the development of their creative and analytical abilities. It is proven that the subject separation of traditional education complicates the understanding of interdisciplinary connections, negatively affecting the quality of knowledge acquisition. A scientific analysis of approaches to knowledge integration in primary education has been conducted, highlighting the historical aspects of its development and modern trends in implementing an interdisciplinary approach. The theoretical foundations of educational field integration are considered, particularly their significance for developing key competencies in young learners. The features of integrating mathematical and artistic knowledge in primary school and their impact on the development of spatial thinking, creativity, and independence in students are identified. The effectiveness of project-based activities as a method of integrative learning is substantiated. The project method allows students to engage in active research work, develop their communication skills, creative potential, and logical thinking. Practical recommendations for the implementation of integrated educational projects in primary school are presented. Topics and methodological approaches for project execution that combine mathematics and art, such as model creation, artistic compositions, and design projects, are proposed. It is concluded that integrating mathematical and artistic educational fields in primary school is a promising direction for modernizing the educational process. It is noted that the application of the project-based approach enhances students’ motivation for learning, actively engages them in the educational process, and fosters independence and critical thinking skills. Further research may focus on developing methodological recommendations for the effective implementation of integrative learning in the modern educational space.
