This research aims to optimize daylighting strategies in low-rise residential buildings to enhance energy efficiency and well-being.
Examined window-to-wall ratio, skylight-to-roof ratio, and building orientation for daylight optimization.
Conducted on-site illuminance measurements and climate-based simulations.
Evaluated daylight performance using useful daylight illuminance and spatial daylight autonomy metrics.
Identified optimal ratios of 5% skylight-to-roof and 22% window-to-wall for enhancing daylight availability.
Found that glazing with a visible transmittance of 0.45 balances daylight exposure.
Emphasized the need for site-specific design adaptations to improve indoor environmental quality.
