The article analyzes security threats and trade interactions between Russia and China in Central Asia, indicating a shared foreign policy focus.
The article examines the security and economic interests of the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China in Central Asia. The history of the region and its peculiarities are disclosed. The foreign policy interests of both countries in Central Asia, the relationship of the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China among themselves and with the countries of Central Asia are analyzed. Particular attention is paid to security threats and the interaction of Russia and China on security issues within the framework of the SCO and CSTO. The conjugate interests of both countries are revealed in the implementation of the mega-project «One Belt - One Road» in the transport sector.
