Cross-sectional study assesses compliance with food standards in dairy products, highlighting labeling discrepancies.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate how well imported and packaged dairy products adhere to the recognized guidelines for packaged foods, including the veracity of the data on product labels. A selection of locally produced, imported goods that were sold in Karbala marketplaces were the main emphasis. As per the study, all Iranian export packets contain key details like name of product and type of product, manufacturing date, condition for storage and ingredients. But some key information had been left out, including the country where the product was made and its origin, the weight, the use-by date, health warnings and nutritional information. This suggests that health standards need to be better followed in order to guarantee that consumers are given accurate and thorough information.
