Urban regeneration and green infrastructure: Practical examples

Green infrastructure in a broader sense goes beyond the term greening, as it includes a whole range of areas and tools that can improve its quality. The challenges of the City of Novi Sad, which, according to the last population census, is one of the few cities whose population has increased, are even bigger, because it is necessary to find new, alternative ways to improve the quality of the environment. By applying innovative hydrotechnical, electric power, traffic solutions, as well as renewable energy sources for the implementation of green infrastructure, environmental parameters are additionally improved. Digital technologies connect and speed up all activities, facilitate communication between involved actors and enable reaching the desired level in the development of blue-green infrastructure, as an upgrade of green infrastructure.
