This analysis reveals how Agatha Christie employs nursery rhyme adaptation and narrative strategies, suggesting a modern interpretation of folk literature.
This study focuses on Agatha Christie’s adaptation practice of Western nursery rhymes in her detective novels, with the theoretical framework of the modern transformation of story poetics, providing an in-depth analysis of how Christie achieves the contemporary reinterpretation and aesthetic revitalization of folk literary resources by means of cross-genre and cross-media adaptation, recon-structive and subversive narrative strategies, and a reader-centered re-ception mechanism. The paper aims to systematically elucidate Christie’s crea-tive rein-terpretation while inheriting the traditional folk narrative, thereby offering in-sights for the theoretical construction of Chinese story poetics and the modern practice of local folk literature.
