Long-term strategy for the Western Balkans The leaders of the Western Balkans signed it in 2020. It was adopted immediately after the adoption of the “EU Green Deal” with the aim of: overcoming pollution problems, accelerating the process of harmonizing environmental standards with those of the EU. The transition is needed towards: renewable energy sources, sustainable agriculture and food production, efficiency in resource management, inclusive growth through: social equality, innovation and environmental technologies, green finance, investments in sustainable projects and, strengthening climate resilience.
