Case series details the benefits of ex-utero intrapartum treatment for fetal airway pathologies, suggesting improved outcomes.
The ex-utero intrapartum treatment procedure is an exciting application that allows perinatal–fetal cardiopulmonary support with uterine relaxation during cesarean delivery. The ex-utero intrapartum treatment procedure not only significantly reduces mortality and morbidity in fetal airway pathologies, but also offers a glimmer of hope by demonstrating the potential to achieve favorable outcomes in these challenging cases. The ex-utero intrapartum treatment procedure requires comprehensive evaluation and communication by an experienced multidisciplinary team for fetal diagnosis and intervention throughout the prenatal, perinatal, and postnatal periods. We aimed to present the information in the literature and our experience with the ex-utero intrapartum treatment procedure we applied in four cases diagnosed antenatally in our clinic.
