This investigation reveals enhanced mechanical properties of PMMA with HA and MWCNTs, suggesting promising biomedical uses.
This study investigates the development and evaluation of a polymer matrix nanocomposite composed of Polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) reinforced with Hydroxyapatite (HA) and Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes (MWCNTs). The nanocomposite was fabricated using powder technology and magnetic stirring methods and was characterized by compression, tensile, and wear tests. The inclusion of HA and MWCNTs significantly enhanced the mechanical properties of PMMA, making it a promising candidate for biomedical applications such as bone replacement and dental implants.
