Research identifies grammatical structures in English gastronomic discourse, highlighting connections with marketing strategies.
The purpose of this research is to identify in nominative paradigm of English gastronomic discourse grammatical ways of organizing the economical linguistic patterns in terms of lexical content in order to convey maximum information for instant perception and processing by the recipient. The novelty of the research refers to the fact that as a result of an integrated and interdisciplinary approach to the study of English confectionery names, which requires taking into account social and cultural aspects, we were able for the first time to identify modern language trends in English nominative paradigm in gastronomic discourse. The article presents the structural and substantive features of English confectionery names, such as cakes, which allow gastronomic discourse to perform an informative function. The results of the analysis are as follows: grammatical features of the names were systematized, dominant grammatical structures were identified, and the connections between language structures, marketing strategies and modern trends were described.
