Systematic review highlights BIM integration improves design accuracy in construction, suggesting a shift toward data-driven methods.
This study addresses the integration of Building Information Modeling (BIM) with structural analysis tools as a key strategy to improve project management in the construction sector. Based on a systematic literature review, case studies, and empirical evidence gathered through surveys of AEC professionals, it examines how the synergy between these technologies enhances design accuracy, operational efficiency, data traceability, and structural sustainability. Technical (poor interoperability, limited standards), methodological (low digital maturity), and organizational (lack of training and regulatory frameworks) barriers are identified as obstacles to full adoption. Emerging trends such as digital twins, artificial intelligence, and automation are also presented as opportunities to advance toward a predictive, collaborative, and data-driven structural engineering paradigm.
