Research shows improved reproductive rates and productivity in sows with probiotics and prebiotics, indicating important advancements for pig farming.
In order to increase productivity and more efficient use of feed by pigs along with feed additives drugs stimulating growth and increasing productivity are used. Along with the production of mineral and vitamin premixes, probiotic and prebiotic drugs are becoming increasingly widespread. Probiotics and prebiotics are of particular importance in relation with the intensification of pig farming, when pigs must provide high productivity rates with the lowest feed costs per unit of production. The purpose of the research was to study the increase in the reproductive capacity of sows under the conditions of industrial pork production technology through the use of feed additives. The research was carried out at the Agrofirm Ariant Pig Complex LLC in the Chelyabinsk region. The data on the use of the probiotic Provagen and the prebiotic Chlorella in the diet of pregnant sows and young pigs during rearing and fattening, and their effect on the dynamics of live weight have been presented in the article. The optimal dose of the probiotic Provagen has been established was 200 g/t of compound feed. The use of this probiotic will increase the prolificacy of sows by 6.8 %, the livability of piglets during the suckling period up to 96.4 %, increase the average daily gain in live weight by 2.2 %, slaughter yield by 4.4 abs.% and will increase profit by 1705.0 rubles per head. The prebiotic Chlorella in the amount of 100 mg/kg of live weight allows to increase the prolificacy of sows by 5.9 %, the livability of piglets by 5.9 abs.%, increase the average daily gain in live weight by 5.9 %, slaughter yield by 7.2 abs.%, increase profi t by 920.7 rubles per head.
