The article is devoted to the analysis of methodological approaches to assessing the effectiveness of cluster initiatives in the Republic of Tatarstan. Regulatory documents, regional practices and scientific publications reflecting various levels and criteria of assessment are considered. Based on the comparative analysis, directions for unification of approaches and improvement of monitoring are proposed. The need for a systemic, adaptive assessment methodology that takes into account the regional specifics of cluster development is substantiated.
