This research identifies motor abilities and healthy lifestyle attitudes in student esports athletes, suggesting tailored training strategies.
The authors identified five variations (clusters) of the psychophysical state of student esports athletes, determined by morphofunctional status, motor abilities, muscle bioenergetics, psychological type, neuromotor characteristics, and attitudes toward components of a healthy lifestyle. It is demonstrated that the primary phenotypic characteristic of the clusters is body type and the development of an understanding of a healthy lifestyle. Temperamental traits and neurodynamic characteristics tend to exhibit a more diffuse distribution. In the structure of perceptions about a healthy lifestyle, the greatest inter-cluster differences were found in attitudes toward rational nutrition, physical activity, interpersonal communication, and personal growth. In the motor sphere, differences were identified only in general endurance; in the state of muscle bioenergetics, differences are observed along the axis of aerobic and anaerobic glycolysis capacity parameters and the power of aerobic and mixed energy supply. The main factors influencing the development of motor abilities were identified as follows: the state of muscle bioenergetics and overall muscular work capacity; strength abilities associated with gracility-massiveness; self-assessment levels of activity and mood reciprocally linked to interpersonal relationships; relevance of rational nutrition and physical activity among students with low self-rated well-being; importance of personal growth and development of interpersonal relationships among individuals with high neuroticism; low stress management skills and responsibility for health among individuals with a resilient nervous system. Each variation is characterized by a unique factor influencing the development of motor abilities, which can be considered either as a driver or a limiting factor for progress. Based on the identified features of these variations, sports and educational strategies for general physical training have been formulated. The article is based on experimental research conducted by co-author A.E. Levin.
